Sara Holland

Sara grew up throughout western North Carolina and graduated from the University of North Carolina – Asheville with a BA in Art History and a minor in Business Marketing. During undergraduate studies, Sara played NCAA division one soccer while leading multiple campus ministries and volunteering.

Upon receiving her BA, Sara moved directly to rural southern Oregon where she served with AmeriCorps VISTA. Sara served Douglas County Early Childhood Planning Coalition where she raised awareness for parent education and researched child development extensively.

Before beginning graduate studies, Sara worked as a Canopy (zipline) Guide back in North Carolina. Sara graduated in May of 2015 with a Master of Divinity from Boston University, having concentrated in Global and Community engagement. Sara hopes to eventually complete her Master in Social Work as she is committed to serving vulnerable populations. Sara is especially passionate about working as an advocate for people of the LGBTQIA* community.

Sara has just begun the ordination process and is excited to see where it leads her! Sara is supported by her partner, Libby, her family in North Carolina, and countless friends throughout the United States. Gratitude is at the core of Sara’s faith and spirituality. Sara plays and coaches’ soccer, loves coffee, and looks for any excuse to be outside.
