We are an Open and Affirming congregation of the United Church of Christ. It is with the spirit and the love of God that we openly welcome all persons, inclusive of every race, ethnicity, class, age, gender, physical or mental ability, sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression and inclusive of any others, to journey with us as we move forward with the work of this church in the world.
The annual stewardship pledge is our yearly commitment by each member of our church community to support the church by prayerfully donating a portion of our annual income to the church. Our theme this year is focusing on being “Stewards of God’s Gifts”. For Christians, this means managing the resources God brought into our lives and to use them to honor Him. One of those gifts is the income that each of us receives. Returning a portion to the church allows our community to continue to be stewards for God. Every Sunday – Church School
CONFIRMATION CLASSES Some of your kids are now at the exciting stage where they are eligible for confirmation! Rev. Pete and Bri Doty would love to invite your upcoming 8th and 9th graders to participate in these classes after church from 11:30am-12:30pm on prescribed Sundays (2nd and 4th of the month). Starting September 14th, this will be a time for your kids to ask questions, grow in their faith, and explore what it means to be a follower of Jesus and member of a faith community.
Please reach out and let us know if you have a rising 8th or 9th grader who is interested in confirmation this year and any suggestions for adult sponsors from within the church. We look forward to working with your students through this process of owning their faith!
In peace, Bri Doty (bri@hccucc.com)
GREEN TIP OF THE WEEK
SAVING WATER
During this time of a Level 2 Water Ban (as of 6.24) in Hingham, if you find yourself running water down the drain in the kitchen or bathroom sink waiting for it to warm up, try saving that water (possibly a gallon) in a gallon-size plastic water bottle or thoroughly-rinsed milk bottle (possibly with the top cut a bit bigger) in which to run your water until it warms up to your desired temperature? Then use that water on your outdoor or indoor plants? One other idea – if you do not already have one: Set up a rain barrel under a backyard downspout.
USE WISELY…. HELP US CARE FOR OUR FRAGILE
ENVIRONMENT BY REDUCING WASTE.
REUSE – REDUCE – REFUSE – REPAIR – RECYCLE – ROT (COMPOST)
