Easter

Dear HCC Family,
As we enter more deeply into Holy Week, Sara and I, our other staff members, and our lay leaders send our love and our hope for good health and peace to you all.
Below, please find all the information you will need to participate in our Holy Week experiences. We know that none of what we are offering is the same as what we usually share when we are in each other’s presence physically, and in the church building. Many of us – including me – are mourning our separation. We hope that these offerings will provide a measure of connection, solace, light, and hope.
Maundy Thursday Service of Tenebrae: Tracy and I will offer a simplified version of our annual Maundy Thursday service at 7:30 p.m., live on my Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/peter.allen.5070276  The service will be posted on the church’s new YouTube channel afterwards, as soon as possible:  https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCwvLqzvjbXllo7SErFpyLdgMaundy Thursday prayer time for children:  Check out HCC’s Facebook page for a posting from Rev. Sara including a brief prayer time. We are encouraging an intentional snack or drink for this time as we consider The Last Supper. This pre-recorded video will be posted sometime before tomorrow. Good Friday: Rev. Sara will offer a live Good Friday prayer service at 3 p.m. via Zoom. Here’s the link: https://zoom.us/j/451701375  Please email pastorsara@hccucc.com  if you need the full invite information. Easter Sunrise Service: Rev. Sara will pre-record a sunrise service on Saturday and post for early Sunday morning; this will be accessible via the church’s facebook page or through YouTube.
For our Easter Morning Servicewe are moving to a different approach from our last few Sundays. We will post a single, more comprehensive service on a new YouTube channel called Hingham Congregational Church: Hingham, MA. Here is the link: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCwvLqzvjbXllo7SErFpyLdg  The service will be posted in time for you to connect at 10 a.m. on Easter morning. I will also be preaching live on my Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/peter.allen.5070276  at 10 a.m. if that is a more appealing option for you. The sermon will also be on the YouTube post, along with a prelude and postlude, hymns, a choir anthem, scripture, prayer, a children’s message, and a benediction.
In the future, all services will be accessible through our church’s website.
Other Easter Day offerings for children and youth:

A few other thoughts:Please keep the Hulbert family in your prayers  as they lay Betty to rest on Friday. I will be leading a burial service with the family remotely. I will let you know when we are able to schedule an in-person service at the church sometime this summer.
Please remember to keep giving to HCC. Our financial obligations continue unabated. Please visit our website hccucc.com to make a gift. Anything and everything you give makes a difference! Thank you so  much.
If you have a financial need or know someone who does, please contact me for confidential help at pastor@hccucc.com
Easter is coming! Peace to all,
Pete
