Raised in Westport, Connecticut, Pete graduated from the University of Connecticut in 1985. After college, Pete went directly on to Andover Newton Theological School to earn his Master of Divinity. During seminary, Pete held various student leadership positions and served the United Church in Walpole as Youth Director and in other capacities. He was ordained as a minister in the United Church of Christ in 1988.
Over the next 22 years, Pete served churches in Concord, New Hampshire, and Monroe, Connecticut. In 2010, Pete earned his Doctor of Ministry from Hartford Seminary, where his dissertation on the spirituality and religious lives of young adults was received with distinction.
In midcareer, Pete took 18 months away from parish ministry to serve desperately impoverished people in Oaxaca, Mexico. Pete and his wife, Tracy, came to Hingham in 2013. Pete has two grown sons, Hank and James.
Pete’s professional interests include preaching, youth ministry, mission travel, and community leadership. Pete enjoys reading, playing guitar, cooking, and being on the water and in the mountains.
